DPI

Definition

Dots per Inch (DPI) is a measure unit for scanners, printers and other devices. A higher value of dots(= pixels) per Inch increases the resolution of a print. Changing the DPI of a digital photo does not increase the resolution of the actual photo.

Very often the measure unit DPI is used, while PPI (Pixels per Inch) is actually meant. See the Related Information for more information.
