Definition

Term coined by reportage photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson to describe the moment, in a photograph involving live subjects, when the elements of the photograph converged into an ideal composition within the frame.

Tips & Tricks

You have to develop a self-trust in order to capture the decisive moment, because you need to be able to predict it, even if by a fraction of a second.
