Color Cast

Definition

The dominance of a certain color in an image. It looks like a clear film of the color has been placed over the entire image, and is more noticeable over large areas of highlight.

  • In digital photography, color cast can be caused either by having selected the wrong white balance setting for the photographic situation, or as a result of post-processing of the image.
