Comments / Tips / Experiences

The first thing considered in taking a photo is the subject. What is the focus of my photo? The next question that is often forgotten is: What is behind and surrounding my subject? If a busy, cluttered street is not an appealing backdrop for a candid photo, lowering the camera and looking up at the subject can create a more pleasing backdrop of the sky and surrounding buildings. The background changes from a littered street to an architecural skyline, while the subject remains the same.
