100% Crop

Definition

A 100% crop is a term used to analyse image quality. An image is blown up to 100% so that individual pixels can be seen clearly, and then presented. This procedure can be used for example to take identical photographs with two SLR lenses, and compare the quality, or to show how ‘sharp’ a lens is.
