Chris is coming to Portland, Maine (even though he appears to be afraid of lobsters and other crustaceans) for a workshop.
We will be hosting a meet and greet the evening before the workshop starts, on Aug 27. It's open for everyone who wants to meet Chris, so mark your calendar now!
We're looking at several different locations in the downtown/Old Port area. Keep coming back and watch for locations!
Any questions? Please email me!

OK, Here it is! We are meeting at 6 pm on wednesday, August 27, in Portland Maine at Flatbread Pizza
http://www.flatbreadcompany.com/2007Portland.htm
This is a great chance to meet Chris and to talk digital photography. Of course, there are still a few spaces left in the workshop, which starts promptly the following morning.
See you there! _________________ Dave

I can't manage to do the workshop this year too many other things going on... I will see if I can get to the meet and greet though. It's about 2.5 hours from my house (I've never been to Portland so it would be fun).
Seems I took up this hobby at a time when I'm suddenly overwhelmed with many other things that must be done. I have to say though, I was able to get out to the local Botanic Garden yesterday. Took tons of pictures. It was just the relaxation I needed. Now, I have my fingers crossed and I'll let you know when it gets closer to the day but I'm hoping to at least have pizza. _________________ Teresa

I can't take the workshop, but I'd love to come to Flatbread for the get-together on the 27th. I live on an island, and Flatbread is right next to the ferry terminal.
Does this count as a hand-raise, or do I need to officially tell someone I'm going to be there? |

I plan to be at Flatbread Pizza in Portland. I cannot attend the workshop unfortunately, so I am grateful the meet & greet is arranged. Count me in.

After a 9.5 hour drive, I'll need a beer(s), and I'll be there (unless I get caught in traffic). _________________ Olympus E3 with Zuiko lenses...

Thanks for letting me know you are attending! It's too bad you can't be here for the whole workshop, but at least you can meet Chris, enjoy some great food and have a nice time in Portland. _________________ Dave

are you getting a car? Portland will be a nice place to explore for a few hours before we all meet. http://www.portlandheadlight.com is a nice place to go and see the ocean and go for a brief walk. There are other places as well. _________________ Dave

I should be able to make it to Flatbread. Should be a lot of fun, and a good way to start the workshop.

I think I've talked my wife into a trip down for the meet & greet. It'll be nice to see the faces to the names.
Some may find the Old Port area has excellent photo ops:

and while we may have to head back home sooner than a good time to go there, the Brewmaster at Gritty McDuff's is my Sister-In-Law's Brother and his assorted beers are very good.

Oh I am so bummed. There is no possible way I can get up to Portland this week. As it is I'm so swamped with work I shouldn't be hitting the forum at all. *sigh* I was very much hoping to get up there and meet some peeps, but it is not to be... everyone have fun. _________________ Teresa
