I have to agree here, I just shoot, after wearing glasses for more than half my life, you get used to the dirt on them, and without mine one, everything is just a blur, so a little dirt is no matter.
It's not like I don't have lens cleaning equipment in my camera bag. _________________ Rob

I'll second the earlier comment about keeping a separate cleaning cloth for glasses and your lenses- the oils from your skin could be a problem.

I starteds wearing glasses about 10 years ago. At first they were pretty annoying when using the camera. Now, I don't even notice them. Unless I've been doing some woodworking. It's tough to see through a good layer of sawdust! Just keep shooting. You will get used to it>

I am farsighted and I need my glasses for reading and anthing close. To see the camera setting I have my reading glasses on but when I want to look through the view finder on the camera I have to take then off. I get so frustrated taking them off and on until I have everthing set right . Somedays I feel like dumping the camera hobby and stick with retoring photos

It's quite possible you can get a diopter adj. eye piece such that you can see through the viewfinder with your reading glasses on. It will depend on the perscription, but I recall +/-3D eyepieces available. _________________ Digital: Andor iXon 887

Can't say I have had problems with dirt rubbing on to the glasses - how dirty are your cameras?!
I sometimes take them off because I can get away with using the diopter adjustment thingy so I guess I am lucky... _________________ website | twitter |

I am so short-sighted that I couldn't possibly find a dioptre adjustment to suit me, so I have to wear my glasses while shooting. In fact, I didn't even think about not doing so, and didn't realize that others had any problems.
My problem is that I'm getting long sighted as well as short sighted now that I'm approaching my mid-forties. (OK it's not really long-sighted, I know, it's just a failure to accommodate.) But whatever it is, it means that I have to take my glasses off to get a close look at the camera's monitor. So I either peer over the top like an annoyed school teacher (sorry Rolf) or push them up onto my forehead, where they get smudged, or take them off entirely and hold them by the earpiece in my mouth. No really good solutions there, and I'm not ready for bifocals just yet.

Bifocals might be the answer.
What I probably didn't explain well enough in my earlier post is that I think you can set up an eyepiece which corrects your vision with your glasses on to a point where you can focus through the lens and still pull your head back to read menues with your reading glasses. See, for example,
http://www.adorama.com/NKDP1N.html
It looks like the nikon eyepieces may be stackable, letting you make a -6D if you want.

I spoke about earlier about taking off my glasses back and forth. I do have bifocals but that is even worse for me . I cannot even them daily. I bang myself everywhere and i was told that I have stigmatizim? Thats why I have a problem.

Astigmatism refers to an asymetry in the eyeball; you're right that you need glasses or contacts designed for your eyes to correct this.
What about using diopters to counteract the reading glasses' magnification? You then can read the menus AND see through the viewfinder. _________________ Digital: Andor iXon 887
