All the tips and information that you provide on here as well as the podcast are ver helpful and go along way to introducing new ideas on how to shoot new subjects.
Thanks alot

Chris even by-passed going for desert in order to get the episode edited and upload. Now, that's dedicated. I think he was just so excited by all the studio equipment he just had to get it out. :)

Naan is bread, generally similar to a pita, 9 inches in diamater, 1/4 inch thick.

The things being baked at the end of the clip look more like papadams, very thin, 1/8 or 1/16 inch thick, like a crispy crepe. They often have seeds in them, and sometimes, as in the ones seen here, have small holes or tears. Perfect with some tangy sauce and a KingFisher lager before the meal!

Damn, now I want some

I am looking at purchasing the Spider 3 Elite after listening to your podshow...

A wide range of prices for the product. $299 locally in Canada and B&H in NY is $236 USD and this price includes the shipping. I found another online shop called Calibration Direct who had the lowest price $209.90 USD shipping included but I don't know if they are a reliable/trusted seller. Anyone bought through them and wish to pass along their thoughts? I'd really appreciate an endorsement of Calibration Direct before I buy!

Hey,

I reluctantly admit that I may have been one of the voices on that podcast. I have never had this much fun as an adult ;-)

I highly recommend these workshops, you will learn a lot, Chris is a great guy.

The fun is definitely optional, but i won't recommend skipping it.

I have been searching for a wild flower holder that clamps onto the flower stem and then on to your tripod to keep the flower still while you take close up shots.

I saw one a while ago that was flexible and now can not find anything like it.

Any ideas. Plan to make something but would like to find one made.

Hey Chris, terrific episode! Great stories and wonderful tips. I wish now that I spoke German and French so I could read the other 2 blogs. You three were great together. Oh yeah... you all need to barge into the conversation more when the native English speakers are on the podcast and talking - you three speak just as well as we do ;-) for that matter you probably speak better English than most of us. LOL.

I wanted to say, I have only had my camera a short while, but I've been contemplating buying a 50mm prime lens. Now I know I'll do so very soon and that the f/1.8 is the one I want. I love that this episode came up as I started looking into the purchase. I was worried over what type to get and if I needed to get the faster f/1.4. I believe it was Benoit who made great points on the use of the two different lenses and so I will get the less expensive one and have fun! I may eventually splurge on the more expensive lens - but I'll wait to see how my photography progresses. Besides, this leaves me more for a wide angle lens and a macro lens...

Gotta love the internet - it's a wonderful place.

Hey Chris, great show as usal.

only, do you really have to publish that on your feed as well? Imagine every member of the photocast network did that. I would automatically download the same episode about 10 times as I am subscribed to all of them...

Paul,

Chris has been away an awful lot in the last couple of weeks on his Germany tour and other commitments, and he has only just finished a HappyShooting workshop. I'm sure he'll get some new material out once he has had a chance to touch base again.

Chris.. Wonderfull video.. and that is a truely amaazing place..

I'm just getting into the D-SLR world from SLR -> PnS and now back to a good SLR..

I was wondering, did you post your pics anywhere that you took there.. I'm trying to figure out what type of filters I want to get, and would love to see some of the shots with that ND Grad filter.. :)

As always. Happy shooting

I too just returned from Everest Base Camp. For those that would like to look at more photos, here are some that I took while trekking from April 8 through April 21 from Lukla to Kala Patthar above Everest Base Camp.

I've been a listener to your podcast for a long while. Your Everest Base Camp trip prompted me to write!

I returned from the Everest Base Camp trip (Nepal side) a few weeks ago. It was certainly an experience. I will be updating my blog to cover the ins and outs of the trip and comments on the photographic opportunities. In the meantime I have uploaded a selection of images here: www.victortse.com/everest

Feel free to drop me an email.

I just had my 6MP Digital Rebel (bought in Sept 2004)repaired in February 2008 by Canon and it cost me $195.00, plus shipping (US). This is Canon's set repair fee and they fix everything that is wrong with it - whether you tell them to or not. The problems I had were:

1. bent mirror arm (this prompted the repair)
2. built in flash was not popping up correctly since about 2006
3. compact flash card ejector button was broken since about 2006

I got it back about 3 weeks from the day I sent it to Canon. It works perfectly now!

There is even an annoying radio advert about it as well.

Hey! Just listened to the show.
A few weeks ago I found a site that listed the average death of each canon. It went a little like this:
XTi - 50k
30D - 150k
40D - 150k
5D - 200k
1D Mk III - 300k-500k (don't really remember)
1Ds Mk III - 300k-500k (don't really remember)

Just thought I would throw in my bit of knowledge!

Chris!
The US Photographer's Right Guide - http://www.krages.com/phoright.htm
:)

I loved this episode. Street photography is my favorite style and it's great to hear other ways to approach people.

Thanks!

Inspired by this podcast I decided to test the photography regulations a bit. I joined the lunch and tourist crowd for a break at the food court at the Westfield outdoor shopping center here in San Diego. It was a beautiful sunny day. There were quite a few people taking snapshots of each other, like most tourist do. I pulled up my D300 with the grip and not too large lens, the Tamron 50-17 f/2.8 to see what happened. I made some nice photos of the colorful surrounding. It took about two minutes before a representative from the Westfield marketing department approach me and asked for my photo permit. I said I just shoot for fun like everyone else and didn't have a permit. She asked for my business card for the "organization I represented". I told her again that I just shoot for fun. Than she said that she had to call for security if I continued taking photos. Well, I assume Westfield is private property, even though the outdoor environment more looks like a regular shopping street, so she was probably correct. However, shoe couldn't tell me which laws or regulations that prevented me from taking photos.

This shows that with a SLRs you are probably a terrorist, but with a 12MP point-and-shoot with an equivalent zoom you are just a tourist.

Weird. On a whim, I actually looked up the dolphin buddy website, and the photo of the girl who won the free workshop spot looks amazingly like the girl at Sea World San Antonio who ran the Killer Whale show when I visited last week. Same girl?
