Photo Day Panorama

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Remember the Photo Day with all the photographer interviews last summer? I’m still releasing the Photo Day videos every other week on Fridays (taking turns with the Everest Trek videos). The latest videos were the interview I shot with Ron Pepper on panorama photography.

During that interview Ron shot a panorama of the inside of the TWiT Cottage which is now online.

If you want to come along and have a look inside the TWiT Cottage, you can check it out here!

tfttf431 - Leo goes China - Tech Guy

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

techguy_tfttf_logo2.jpgLeo’s calling out to Chris for help of what to pack for his trip to China. Leo’s bringing along his Canon 5D Mk. II for this once in a lifetime trip. Will he be with photographers? Only amateurs. How much can he comfortably carry all day? Leo has a backpack and the LowePro Slingshot. But he’s limited to 10 pounds on carry on. Chris suggests a good walk around lens like Leo’s F1.2 50mm as it will force Leo to be creative in photo composition.

tfttf430 - Too much light - Tech Guy

Monday, February 15th, 2010

techguy_tfttf_logo2.jpgWhat to do when you have too much light. Use a short shutter speed. Although, that tends to lead to “frozen” moments. The other thing you can do is make the aperture really small (called “stopping down”). The downside of that is everything is in focus - even the background.
