Just thought I’d mention another use for “exposing for the sky.” For years I have been taking panoramic pictures of Baseball parks while watching games, usually at night. My feeling is that a black sky is as bad as a white sky, so the best time to take the picture is after the sun has set, when the sky is a wonderful deep blue. What I do is to meter the sky and the meter the field. When the two are equal then it is the perfect time to take the picture. Sometimes I do not have a chance to take the series of images I can stitch together when this is the case (I also score the games I attend), but when I do shoot around this time then I get that tremendous deep blue of the sky. You can see some examples of what I am talking about at glsmyth.com/Projects/Ballparks/Ballparks.htm.

Ciao form Italy
I lately came across to HDR tecnique…
you can easily find it (examples and procedure and software) on the web
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_imaging
and here a good example:

it seems it solves the “I’d need different kind of exposures” troubles.
cannot do without it!
Ciao!!!
