You asked about downloading all the original size Flickr images with a given tag in a given group. You might try Slickr, if you have a Windows machine. It is a screensaver that grabs photos that you specify. I usually set it to fetch strobist’s favorites, but I have just tried using it to retrieve photos tagged tfapeace, and it seems to work. It will fetch the largest size it is allowed to, and will cache the photos it downloads in a place you choose. Not a perfect solution, but it does at least run in the background.
There is an(other) excellent photography website and podcast series (etc.); Craig Tanner, who does the podcasts (and much else)specializes in landscape photography: “The Radiant Vista”, http://www.radiantvista.com/ .
One of the podcasts (episode 15, continued in 16) offers a very informative discussion of landscape composition using ultra-wide lenses.
Tanner clearly thinks deeply about aesthetics and how to build a landscape scene. He emphasizes the artistic side of photography more than the technical, though both aspects are discussed.
