New Episode of the Focus Ring

The Photocast Network has done it again! Well.. finally :)

With 6 people on the panel (two of them brand new members of the Photocast Network) and over 90 minutes of great photography discussion and fun, this has to be the best Focus Ring ever! And oddly enough it’s titled “Wear a low cut blouse”. Oh well.

Today’s Focus Ring panel:

- John Arnold
- Rolf Steinort
- Jeff Curto
- Paul Guigere
- Benoit Marchal

Oh nooooo. I just had this mental image of John Arnold, with that beard of his, wearing a frilly, girly, low cut blouse. Eeeek.

Having just caught up with a few podcasts which were hidding in my iPOD, I wanted to react to this Focus Ring edition. One of the participant mentioned the possibility to create interesting slideshows with music or sounds. This reminded me of two sites/
    - first the recent website of the Louis Vuitton brand capitalises exactly on that. The site is a series of slideshows from different cities with ambiant sounds as a soundtrack. It is amazing how these little sounds make you travel as much as the photos themselves. (www.louisvuitton.com)
    - second site is animoto. This is a site created by former producers who wanted to leverage their knowledge of the industry. It works in a very interesting manner as you upload your pictures and then either you upload a track or you select one from their partner library, and then click. The robots are then doing a great job compiling that very special clip that you could not do with your own computing capabilities. I was amazed by the quality by the end result. There is no reason why you could not compile your own soundtrack with music, sfx, etc. and upload it. The only downside compared to what your co-host was refering to, you don’t have your hand on how the pictures are following each other (http://animoto.com/)

Keep on the great work… And happy shooting I think is the word:)

    Alles bestens aus GrossBritanien
