I just found your show a couple of months ago. I like it so much I've been going back and catching up on all the previous episodes.

I've just had a chance to listen to this episode, and although I thought it was great, and I liked the resulting images, I don't know if I would really call this "street photography".

I do a fair amount of street photography myself, and I keep my eye on quite a few other street photographers as well. There seems to be a consensus that street photography is all about capturing a moment. Once you ask someone if you can take their picture, whatever moment existed, is now gone, and the photo becomes a portrait.

I would personally classify these images as "environmental portraiture", and NOT street photography.

Anyway, that's just my two cents. Keep up the great work with the show!

Thanks for the pics & the show. This exactly is what I am dealing with lately. Seems to be a general thing; ask nicely & it's mostly OK. Pics of kids is a bit trickier, permission is even more important!
Be well,
Tom

It was interesting listening to this, as for my fashion styling and photography we were encouraged to do street photography, so one sunday last month I went to Camden town myself. Only one girl didn't want her photo taking.

Hey Chris,

Nice sound-seeing, and thanks for the Nately mention and link (we've linked right back to ya - synergy, baby). Good luck with the radio show this weekend, and if you come back to London, we owe you a drink too.

Cheers,

Chris,

Congradulations on being a "guest" on Leo's show this week. Leo's weekend show is also syndicated to other radio stations across the USA on various stations, mostly those owned by Clear Channel.

Hope you're coming to Podcast Expo again this year! I really enjoyed talking to you, and ended up getting the Nikon D80. It's working out great! If you come back to Podcast Expo, I owe you a drink!
