I think this is a really interesting idea for cleaning a sensor.

Years ago while working at a newspaper one of old timers showed me his trick of cleaning his lenses with scotch tape. Sounds weird but it works like magic. I keep filters on all my lenses. When the get crudded up I scotch tape them to rarely need any cleaning fluid and regular cleaning.

The tape leaves no residue. I even use it to clean the screen of my MacBook

I put this Sigma warning on my site, because a user told me that the scratches he had on his sensor got more visible after Discofilm. Now I know it was an error from his side (nothing had changed) and in the English translation the hint is already removed. The German text will be corrected soon.

Hi Chris,

this Discofilm stuff is really interesting. I just ordered a bottle too, who knows waht this can be used besides cleaning sensors :)

But, the author of this mehtod has also posted a warning about cleaning sensors of Sigma DSLR's, because the glass is not as resistant an can be destroyed (sorry cant translate it better :)
So users of Sigma cams should be careful

In German:
Die vergütung des vordersten Filters ist anscheinend nicht so toll, und kann wenn er schon verkratzt is abgehn.

so far, derdingsder

Dude this is the best vid you've made! So stinking informative! I will be working in a very dusty environment this summer, so this may save me tons in censor cleaning supplies.
