Very interesting – i’m currently looking for a good camary-bag.
You don’t have any filters with you? No ND or Polarization with you?

Nice topic on the Camera bag, I found the cigarette paper idea quite handy. Another idea for the roll paper is to use it as flash difuser. (it even has sticky glue to hold it to the flash, add a tiny bit of moisture and it becomes semi translucent and will dull an otherwise too bright flash – useful for closeup shots) Dont let it get too hot though…

Another trick is to replace coloured gels with home made ones (get yourself some overhead transparency and a colour printer and viola you have a custom gel manufacturing system. Experiment with different opacities / intensities of colour and even multicolured bars for a trippy effect. (i apply them straight over my flash and if you dont have a too solid colour there will be enough light passing through and picking up enough colour to get some nice effects.)

Another trick is too use a plastic 2L softdrink bottle that has been cut vertically in half. (this will sit over you camera when its raining and you can still access the controls from underneath. most people would just put the camera away in these conditions.

Another trick is a sock filled with a plastic bag filled with sand. this will double as a bean bag, (feel free to remove this part if you want to sell more beanbags.)

Another beanbag substitute is a passed out drunk person who is quite tubby. Roll them onto thier back and use thier belly as your tripod, watch out for gas as this adds a bit of shake. This method is particually usefull for photographing intoxicated friends for a nice personal and up close angle. The only downside is that this prop does not fit in your bag. but a bottle of vodka will, use with caution.

Oh yeah one more inclusion for the camera bag. String. Yes common string or fishing line. Its very usefull for tying back small branches that are in the way of a nice shot, especially portraits, also useful for positioning / pulling a flower into sunlight so your hand doesnt get in the shot.

Good String will also allow camera spinning (up to a certain speed) this is a variation on camera tossing but done in a circular fashion around the body, go for a longish exposure (with and without flash) for some truely amateur panoramic photography, watch out for bystanders. Enjoy.
